    When I need to embed a video, I’ve always used the Youtube old format to embed the html code.

    I recently installed Jetpack. I’ve also discovered that WordPress is supposed to handle video embeds by just enetering the url. I’m using Wordpres 3.1.3 and the video embed check box in the media settings page is checked.

    • I’ve tried the url by itself – didn’t work.
    • I tried using the shortcode – didn’t work
    • I tried pasting the new Youtube iframe format and all videos on my site stopped working.

    What am I missing?

    A note to the people who run this forum.

    I’ve been using WordPress for a year now. In that time I’ve posted a half dozen questions. I have a total of one reply. Why have a forum if no one ever responds? Why have a forum that isn’t setup in categories or topics?

    Don’t get me wrong. I’m a fan of WordPress. I’m not a fan of this useless forum.

    I agree with Emilio13– there is virtually no moderation of the wordpress forum. I am having the same issue, and it’s difficult to find up-to-date and reliable information on the issue.

    Emilio13, I recently discovered a stack exchange wordpress site, but I don’t know yet if it’s any good: http://wordpress.stackexchange.com/. I use stack overflow all the time at work for .net/c# stuff, and if the wordpress stack exchange community is anything like stack overflow, you’ll get awesome answers when you have questions– plus it’s easy to find similar questions people have already posted.

    This forum is staffed by volunteers. We try to answer as many questions as we can but it is inevitable that some will get missed. Added to which we all have lives and need things like food & sleep.

    If you would like to lessen the load, please feel free to jump in and answer as many posts as you can. Try helping someone every time you post asking for help.
