Featured Post with a thumbnail and breif text

Hello,

I’ve been using WP for awhile now and I use simple WordPress plugin called “YAFPP” to display a featured post on the home page.

(You will see in the middle there is a bit of text with a read more button under it).

Basically, I used to use YAFPP with another plugin to allow me to show a thumbnail next to this featured post which I was using fine up until a few wordpress updates ago I began getting a fatal error and could no longer use the thumbnail with this plugin.

So please anyone, is there a plugin to that I can use to do what I’m after.. I also want to keep the meta information under he title as well.

This image… …is what I wish to achieve and be able to have the user upload the image using the set-feature-image box in the post.
