Can’t get the ABBR tag to work with WordPress 2.0

    I would like to use the <ABBR> tag in my posts. If I type the following HTML into the WordPress 2.0 HTML editor:

    <abbr title="HyperText Markup Language">HTML</abbr>

    it appears on the rendered page as:

    <abbr title="HyperText Markup Language" />HTML

    which is not correct.

    Is this a bug or am I am I missing something obvious?
