• Hi all.

Maybe a difficult one, but i am looking for a method to configure a sub site through the admin console for the sub site, then have a method to deploy new sub sites using the same settings.

For example. Same Categories, Same Links, and same pages.
So basically a template of configuration for sub sites

I would think there may be a way of cloning a sub site, maybe in the database then deploy a new one with the same database content, except the unique identifiers, for the site

  • I am having the same problem. I’ve tried a bunch of plug-ins but can’t find one that will generate new sites with the same theme & content as the parent site.

Found the answer ( or at least I hope I have. )

This plugin created the site, but I have not had the time to test if the categories, links etc copy

I will test and let you know

However, I don’t think it copies content, but as simple export using WordPress and import to new site once you create it should be suffice

I will test and let you know

Sorry, forgot to tell you plugin

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/add-cloned-sites-for-wpmu-batch/

Does work with 3.1.2, but generates error. Still seems to work though, but again, I will test tomorrow night

Thanks so much – this is exactly what i was looking for. My only problem is that the subdomain install doesn’t exactly work the way I want it to with my host. I can’t do wild card DNS, but it is a small price to pay – this plugin saves a ton of time.

There’s a paid plugin that does the same thing in one click. Look for wp replicator.
