Permissions throughout WP

    Is there a check list that i can obtain so I can check that all the correct permissions have been allocated to my uploaded WP. When I upload the WordPress folder almost always I have permission problems with something, especially automatic updates of just about anything.
    Is there a list indicating the correct permission form me to cross check my WP

    Generally speaking, all files should be 644 and all folders 755. The one common exception is the wp-content folder whose permission may need to be changed to 766, 767, 775 or 777 when you first upload an image or attachment. Once your uploads are working, you should be able to switch it back to 755.
