New theme or child theme?

    Hi all,

    I’m a total noob at theme development, having styled and adapted other themes for my own purposes in the past.

    We’ve developed a theme in Photoshop and would like to make it functional.

    My question is.. is it a better idea to grab an existing bare-bones style/supped up functional theme (twentyten?) or try and develop our theme from the absolute start?

    here’s what it looks like and is all we need it to do:

    Any tips for starting out with theme development/adaptation would be great.
