You can’t use a period in a site name, because generally that’s not good naming practices.
If you have it installed at subdomain.domain.com, yes.
Or if you have a multi network plugin and make subdomain.domain.com a new network and make new blogs from it, yes.

I’m gonna try a multi network plugin. Got a couple of questions:
1. In my network one of the sites is a buddypress site that gatheres all the activity from the sites, will this still work with a multi network?
2. Do you recommend a specific plugin?

Buddypress has one instance across however many network you have in the install.

Hi Andrea_r,
Thanks for all the help. I’m half way there. I installed WP Multi Network plugin that works just fine. Create a new blog in the new network (tripascoracao.blogues.porto24.pt/) and that work fine also. Now i just have to figure out how to get the activity of this blog into the buddypress part that sits in comunidade.port24.pt. My posts aren’t getting posted in there.
Any ideia? I know this question is best suited for the buddypress forum.
Make sure it’s set public, but also … MultiNetwork may not be fully compatible with BuddyPress. Search for the plugin there and see if anyone’s run into this before?
And buddypress may not pull activity from the other network.

Thanks for the help.
I can’t find a way to have buddypress in one network detect the activity that goes on in another network. I’m going to go with simple subdomains.
Maybe in the future this will be possible, but i guess for now it’s not.
That’s weird. It’s supposed to cross networks. Because what you describe happening is stuff people *want* and can’t get working.
Have you asked at the buddypress forums?
