• I’m new to wp and have installed WP 2.0. I was able to access the admin page one time. AFter that, no success trying to access the admin page – it just comes up blank. It appears I am using the correct login and password, since the front page has a link to logoff. When trying to access it from IE, it tells me “the page cannot be displayed”. The page is there, it is not empty, but there is obviously something wrong with it.

I’ve got some more information. I just checked in my error_log file (apache). It has a bunch of errors: “Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 0 bytes)”. Any ideas? Is the admin index.php doing something special that requires so much memory. I can access some of the other files (i.e. edit.php, import.php) – I didn’t try them all.

I think I have it. I commented out/removed all the rss feeds. Now it is OK. What’s the deal here??

Hi spinner! You seem to be your own support group 😉

Spinner–I’m having the EXACT same problem. My upgrade to 2.0 went fine, I was logged in fine last night. Today, I try to login and it throws me to a blank page. I can’t get in my admin area at all.

When you say you removed all the rss feeds, what do you mean exactly? I’d like to try that.

I tried deleting the cache and it didn’t help.

    Anyone else have suggestions?

nm–I figured it out. For me it was a problem with a plugin: Admin Drop Down Menu… Not sure why, but when I deleted it, everything works fine…
