New install – no admin page

I’m new to wp and have installed WP 2.0. I was able to access the admin page one time. AFter that, no success trying to access the admin page – it just comes up blank. It appears I am using the correct login and password, since the front page has a link to logoff. When trying to access it from IE, it tells me “the page cannot be displayed”. The page is there, it is not empty, but there is obviously something wrong with it.
