child theme breaks custom menu

    My custom menu (appearance > menus) when twentyten theme is activated shows the correct links. When I activate a child theme (a virtually blank stylesheet) then the menu goes haywire and shows the wrong links

    aha, you have to reassign the primary navigation in menu area when you activate a different theme.
