Trackback not working with Movable Type? (11 posts)

This one's killing me... Trackbacks seem to work, on my own blog and I tested them with RedAlt's trackback tester.

But I can't seem to send trackbacks to blogs running MovableType. (In at least one case, I know for sure the trackback isn't being moderated or censored.)

I'm running WP 1.5.2 (been waiting a bit before I'll bite the bullet and upgrade to 2.0).

Is there any information people can give me that might help?

Something else that would help tremendously -- are there any MovableType test blogs out there which I could try sending trackbacks to? Even better, does anyone have a MovableType blog that I could try sending trackbacks to. (You could even delete the trackbacks if they show up.) I'm just trying to narrow down the problem and figure out what's up.

Are you having trouble with your WP or MT blog? If MT, then you're looking for help in the wrong place.

Sorry. I have a Wordpress blog. That's all I have access to. It seems that my trackbacks I'm trying to send from Wordpress aren't showing up on MT blogs...

    Hello
I trying to ping a MT blog from my Wordpress2.0 and nothing happens. Does the trackback function just works between wordpress blogs?
    Thank's

Yeah, I've pretty confirmed... My trackbacks work in Wordpress, they work in Typepad. But they don't work in MoveableType. I'm assuming this would be an MT problem, not a Wordpress problem, but I just wondered if anybody knew anything about it...

Did anyone ever answer this? I have found the same thing. Wordpress does not appear to ping moveable type blogs.

Has anyone been able to get their blogs to successfully trackback a Moveable type or blogger site using wp 2.0x?

I will create a blogger account to test but I figured perhaps someone may have solved this issue already.

I'm seeing this from the other direction: I have a MovableType blog, and I am getting trackbacks from everyone, *except* from WordPress users.

They don't even appear in the log or in the "junk trackbacks" folder.

I did some more testing using the WordPress test trackback blog:
    http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/TestTrack/

It seems that trackbacks sent manually work ok, but automatic ones don't get send.
My templates have the RDF trackback block, so I'm not sure why WP doesn't use it.
Here is the section from my template:

I'm assuming this would be an MT problem, not a Wordpress problem, but I just wondered if anybody knew anything about it...

Well, I contacted MovableType's tech support, and they say that the problem is at WP's end...

I'm willing to help investigate this issue as much as I can (I can donate a MT blog for this), since this situation is just crazy, when two of the major blogging platforms can't ping properly.

    Anyone?
