Did you check out the Plugins section in the Codex?

Yes I did. Was there something that I didn’t notice?
There a couple here:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugins/Links
You define the term – say “Hotel” and each time you use that word, WP autolinks it for you. That what you meant ?

http://rudd-o.com/projects/wp-autolink/
Or did you mean something else ?

No, I’m sorry. That’s not what I mean.
I mean that as in your reply you gave URLs which automatically were transformed into links. The same happens if I post an URL in the comments of my blog.
However, the same thing does not work in the posts itself. I wonder if there is a way to enable that function for posts, too.

Perhaps one could use optional fields to do this?
If I want an URL in the end of each post, perhaps I could make an optional field for that. Is it possible to apply some rules to those fields, eg. that an URL in the field would automatically be transformed into a link?

It can’t be that difficult… It already works in comments. What’s the magic to make it work also in posts?
See for instance here (it’s my test blog):

The very same URL twice: in the post itself it’s not a link but in a comment it is. Why not in post, too?

Well, I finally found a plugin for that:
http://www.coffee2code.com/archives/2004/07/08/plugin-auto-hyperlink-urls/
I installed it to my test blog and it seems to work.
There is also some previous discussion about the subject:
