    Hello,

    I have a site with about 3k posts most private posts for members. When I try to move the post over, the script stops. I get a moving 200 posts… and then it just does not do any more. So it get about half the posts moved and then freezes.

    The other question is would I lose ranking? For some of my posts I user a normal permalink such as http://www.mysite.com/seo-friendly-artcle.html when I move into into WP they are not listed like that.

    I currently have the WP blog installed on a sub directory, which I wanted to move all the posts and then make it the main.

    Any ideas on how I can go about this?

    i think you have a time out problem – please check the php settings on your webserver (phpinfo) for max script execution time and other time settings.
    then you can migrate each category seperately.

    the urls will be changed. you have to use redirects 301 – there are a lot of plugins for that.
