I’m not a coder, so I would appreciate some help. I’ve written Amber Panther twice with this question and have gotten no response.

In the Cleanroar theme I would like to exclude the side bar on a few pages. I would appreciate it if someone would give me specific instructions on how to do that. Thank you.

When editing or creating a page, check the left-hand column for a Templates option. If there is a template that supports No Sidebar, select it and you are good to go.

Otherwise, you will have to get someone to create a template page for you for this theme. You can probably get that done inexpensively on a sites like jobs.wordpress.net or wpquestions.com

Thank you for responding. I could probably handle the template. The problem is that there is no facility for using it that I can find in Cleanroar.

i use Widget Logic plugin and works great for what you want to do. you can download at wordpress.org and the codex explanation on how the tokens or commands work is posted below.

widget logic places a small window inside each widget you want in the sidebar. so lets say for example your niche is cats & dogs. and you only want certain widgets so show on your cat post or pages. then all you need to do is this…

    is_category( ‘8’ )
meaning that this widget will only show if category 8 is current (cats).

you can use slugs and titles too. for more info on the codex go here.

there is also a command to use to ignore pages or posts you dont want the sidebar to show.
