  • Hi Guys,

We’re having some performance issues with WP 3.1 multiuser on IIS on Windows (server 2008; intel xeon, dual 1.9; 4gb ram; php+fastcgi). We’re in the process of generating 10.000 websites for our customers, but after a test with the first 1.000 sites, we’re already having major performance issues.

After doing some research it appears that the combination of WP/Windows often results in performance issues.

What is the best practice for a large WP instance (10.000 sites) on a dedicated Windows machine?
Are there performance differences between IIS vs. Apache? Or other settings that can be adjusted?

    Thanks!

    IIS 6 or 7?

I seem to recall PHP on IIS 6 took a performance hit without Zend being configured correctly, but … well most of us are Apache/Linux people :/

    Sorry, IIS 7

(I am more an apache/linux person mysql as well, but don’t have a choice now)
