Category base behavior changed in WP3

    Hi

    I searched for a possible answer but I didn’t find anything so here it is. We upgraded from 2.9 or whatever it was to 3.1 just recently. I used to be able to go to a category index page by going to site/cat/ but now that gets redirected to site/base/cat/

    I am not talking about removing base, but for SEO reasons, just on two category index pages, I really like not having to use it.

    What’s changed and can I get that back?

    Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find anything I could use there. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Does anyone have a suggestion how to resolve it?

    I updated to 3.1.1 and the issue is gone.
