• There appears to be a bug in WordPress 2.0 that prevents it from generating an enclosure for a podcast if your are unfortunate enough to put in an mp3 (absolute of course), publish, remove the reference to the mp3 from the post and update the blog, and then add another MP3 back in. There must be a counter somewhere.

Note – I disabled and cleared the WordPress Cache to no avail.

Does anyone know how to reset the counter or force a regen on the rss feed so I can publish my new mp3 as an audio enclosure?

I get the feeling that the enclosure mechanism for podcasts doesn’t work at all in 2.0. What a nightmare. I just created a new installation from scratch and it does not pick up my mp3’s as podcasts. I did not have this issue on 1.5. It looks like this is horribly broken in 2.0.

I have tried just about everything to get the RSS enclosure to work with my podcasts to no luck on WP 2.0.

Does anybody have an suggestions? There are no entries in the meta table for my podcasts so I am stuck at this point. Very bad for a site that features Podcasts.

I think it might have something to do with the extra formatting the backend does on the post.

    The site is xhtml compliant.

The code is entered into the editor as follows:

    <a href="http://www.soundtrip.com/podcasts/SoundTrip_1-08-2006_192.mp3"><img src="./images/podcast-mini2.gif" align="middle" alt="Today's SoundCast" class="podcastImg"/></a> Today's show features the following artists:

This is on one line, no breaks or anything as the editor would put a </br> in the code in that case.

    The site is http://www.soundtrip.com/

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I, too am having a problem with automatic enclosure building in 2.0. All worked perfectly in 1.5.2, but once I upgraded, nothing. My site is http://stjeromeschapel.org. If you run my feed through nobodylovesonions (or whatever that thing really is), you can see that the enclosures were perfect until 1/6 and show an error after that. Help help! Podcasts ARE my content.

I ran into this problem (which was equally bad in 1.5) and wrote a plugin. I’ve never done any programming before, but it bugged me so much that I taught myself just enough PHP to figure it out. Here’s the link http://www.15framespersecond.com/enclosureflex/ I definitely welcome any suggestions you have.

I am also having this problem.

I moved my older files to my home server, and have my newer files hosted on libsyn.com. My older files (josh_in_japan_35 to josh_in_japan_01) are those on my home server.

Only shows 35-24 are showing as corrected in the feed after updating. Shows 23-01 are shown as still being located in teh older server. If you click on the link within the actual post, it workd just fine.

From what I can see, the feed will only correct itself (after changing enclosures to something else after posting) for some, not all of the posts that were edited. I edited all my posts, and only am getting partially corrected locations within the feed.

I do not want to break this RSS down by hand. Someone with knowledge, please advise.

sorry to do it, but [BUMP]….
