   Hello,

   I'm running a 2.0 clean install and I've activated the backup utility in WP.

   Each time I try and create a backup (using the option of saving the file to my PC), I get the alert message "The backup file could not be saved. Please check the permissions for writing to your backup directory and try again."

   When I look closer, I see that it's trying to create a backup directory in "www.sarahanne.co.uk/wp-content" called "backup-0661d". Via FTP, I am unable to change the permissions of this folder, or even see what's inside, although can delete it.

   Anyone got any advice on how to resolve this? I'm getting worried - I've added lots of historical posts (from greymatter - another story) and am getting nervous about not having a backup ;)

   That shows how to get a backup using phpmyadmin.

   What you are seeing is the file being created and cached briefly before being sent.
   If you create a /backup folder in /wp-content, does that help at all ?

   I've tried to backup after manually creating the folder - it works, and those instructions for phpMyAdmin look useful! Phew - thanks podz :)
