I can’t delete the default “START” page after installing the theme. My undertsanding is that I should delete some code form the Header php page under templates. I have tried to delete various lines of code but can’t lose the start page. What code do I delete? Or are there other actions I can take?
I understand that this is a common issue with jusgt about every Worpress theme. Why do theme designers install such a page in the first place?

Any help would be very welcome. Thanks

My guess is that your current home page is not a WordPress Page but a list of your recent posts. Perhaps you need to review Creating_a_Static_Front_Page?

Maybe you don’t know that WordPress is (was) a blog system. Your start page is just what most users expect from a WordPress theme.

If you need a static home page you can set it up inside the WordPress admin area.
