I upgraded Simple Tags which I think busted the conditional statements in my sidebar, but it suggested I use this plugin for related posts. So I install it, get it working and optimize it for my content. Then a while later I notice I can’t leave a comment, no comment box. I even click the “Respond” link and still no dice.

Disabling DISQUS allowed me to leave a comment I believe. However DISQUS can’t work while this plugin is activated. At least this was what I determined during my brief testing this afternoon. I’m running the latest version of WordPress and have been running WordPress on this domain for over five years.

http://www.muschamp.ca is the domain in question with the blog located at:

Any advice? I’d like to have my cake and eat it too. Other plugins I’ve installed recently are Digg Digg. I even turned off their modification of plugin exerpts as the author warns that can interfere with other plugins that do this. The only one I think that might do this is one of the SEO ones. Maybe I should switch to Yoasts plugin…

    Thanks in advance.

I upgraded to WordPress 3.1.1 and this had no effect. It did fix my category archives and the sidebar conditionals issues I’ve been having on and off for several versions, apparently Simple Tags and Taxonomy are also affected by this bug, which is hopefully squashed.

Yet Another Related Post Plugin still stops DISQUS from working when I activate it and it appears the two are mutually exclusive at this time, you can’t run both.

    Any thoughts?

The JavaScript that DISQUS adds can mess things up sometimes, and there’s an FAQ item regarding this: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/yet-another-related-posts-plugin/faq/

Thanks, I think it should work better now. Though I think my blog is running slower, I installed Page.li too. What the real problem is the is_front_page and similar conditionals always return true. I’ve had this problem before and my modular sidebar becomes not so modular…

I’m not sure why those conditionals would always return true… YARPP doesn’t mess with those values at all.
