By default, the WPfolio theme excludes posts tagged with a special set of blog-related categories (news, latest, etc.) from the monthly Archive that can be added as a widget to the sidebar. Only posts otherwise categorized turn up in the monthly Archive pages. Does anyone know how to change this so that ALL posts (with their thumbnails) can be included in the monthly Archive? It looks like there is code that might handle this in date.php, but I don’t know PHP, and my various attempts to hack this page have all failed. I’ve tried hacking with both versions 1.5 and 1.7 of WPfolio.

I don’t want to add extra category tags to my blog posts (which would do the trick of including them in the Archive) because I am using my non-blog categories solely for artworks that I want accessible from my main menu. I don’t want blog posts to also turn up in the main menu listings. But on other WordPress sites, I like how monthly archives let you scroll back through time. As things stand, the only way to quickly find earlier blog entries on a WPfolio site (that I know of) is to use the Search box.

Any good ideas will be appreciated…

The site is here: art is all we have

You’re right about date.php. I can’t comb through the code right now and tell you what to do, but if you read through it, hopefully it will make sense. If not and you just want it done, you could probably hire someone for $5 on WPQuestions?

Steve: Thanks for the suggestions; if it becomes urgent I’ll certainly deal with it one way or another. I just thought someone else might have tried to hack this already.
