I bring this up once again, because this is the one aspect of a calendar/event manager that this plugin is in need of. There’s enough benefits to using this plugin that people still choose to use it, but it is a serious point of contention for deciding how much time is going to be spent re-entering essentially what is the same information multiple times when it could/should be done only once.

I hope to hear back from one of the developers regarding this. I’d at least like to know their suggested way(s) to get this implemented (be it payments, number of requests from the community, suggestions of how to implement it, forking the plugin to new developer[s], etc).

As an aside, here’s two other features I’d like to see that hopefully sparks up the interest in resuming development:

    • Allow events to have a start time, but no end time (so people know when to show up, but don’t have a pre-concieved notion of how long it will last).
    • Native sidebar calendar widget.

  • KZeni – I AGREE!!!! Most of my posts required reloading recurring monthly events. It would be neater and more sensible to have this automated.
At least tell us how much it would cost to sponsor this feature, and let us decide if it’s worth paying to expedite, or grouping together to expedite.

Right. The devs could set up a kickstarter page… just saying.

I’ve only posted this here… so if anyone knows how to contact one of the developers directly, please do (or let me know how I could get in contact with them).

Unfortunately, even though this request appears over and over again, the devs are just interested in explaining why it can’t or wont be done.
Look here: FAQ Events Calendar Pro
That explanation is for the paid version.
Because I need to show my events in a recurring week to week fashion ( not every day ) I’ve removed this plugin and will be using this one instead: http://icalevents.anmari.com/
I suggest that you stop wasting your time here and try one of the other plugins that offer exactly what you need.
No, these may not be perfect but at least you can post to the developer(s) directly and get a quick response. Like you can see here

True, but the Pro version seems to have been made by someone who forked the project & wasn’t an original developer (at least they aren’t mentioned in the credits of the non-pro version).

Therefore, one proposed way to get this feature implemented is to have the original developer(s) sanction the development of this feature (requiring no real work from the original developers). I personally wouldn’t want to spend time doing this just to find that development has been abandoned.

I’ve had similar frustrations with this plug-in.

My solution – go search for one that has the features you require.
You don’t need to stump up cash for the basics, and lets be honest adding a recurring event is a basic function for any events calendar.

I agree that if the developers of this plugin can’t find the time they should try kickstarter. There seem to be many people on these forums looking for this feature.

Just adding another reply to request this feature.
