• Hello, i have one website with diferent categories.
And i would like to to this:

    1 WP Instalation
    4 Categories
    5 Themes

I whant to use Theme A in Front Page
    Theme B in category 1
    Theme C in category 2
    Theme D in category 3
    Theme E in category 4
    Is it possible?
Well it’s only 2 themes, one is going to be installed 4 times with diferent colors.

The other way that i was thinking about is:
5 WP Installations, and categories are subdomains with their own theme.
Bur the main installation, bust fetch the posts excerpt’s from the subdomains.
I this this is more work than fun dont you?

The intention is to have a front page that shows posts excerpts and images and several category pages like a tv channel.

OK i whant to do something like revision3.com is it possible?

  • just use different category templates

The problem here is that this are 2 complete diferent themes.
I know how to do category templates, but it should be a lot esear to do with diferent themes.

You’ll have to merge the themes then.

Or you could setup multisite and create a subsite for each category.

WordPress uses exactly ONE Theme at any given time.

The Category Template system – and in fact, the entire Template Hierarchy system – is robust and flexible enough to allow you to customize your Theme based on category, and to have a distinct style/layout for your Front Page as well.
