Temp folder deleted by wordpress.

    I have a site running WP 3.0.5 and every now and then I get problems with the upload of files and images (cannot upload to the uploads folder).
    The expert in charge of the server tells me that the temporary folder wich is being used by wordpress to preload the images before sending them to the uploads folder is being deleted. He asks me if there is some routine in wordpress code wich can be deleting this folder.
    I want to forward this question to the experts in this forum, in hope to find a method to prevent this problem from happening.
