   ..and what happens if I come to a website with those JavaScript code snippets but have execution of JS disabled??

   There are very few effective ways of protecting your information.

   Like I said, it will not stop everyone but it will stop many people who don't know how to get around this.

   Something is better than nothing at all.

   Probably the best option is simply to use Copyscape at regular intervals.
