• So once I add a product, what next?

Nothing appears in the store. So what do I do? How do I get the stuff I add to appear in the store? Why is there no instructions for dummys like me who need things to work simple.

  • Hi,

This plugin works differently than other e-commerce plugins. The way it works is actually a good thing once you realize how it’s set up.

With other e-commerce solutions, you enter all the product details in special forms generated by the e-commerce plugin…product images, details, etc., etc. Then, the e-commerce plugin generates the various product views on store pages. This can be good, but it can also be bad because you’re locked into the way the e-commerce plugin displays things. It might clash with your theme or have other issues.

Cart66, on the other hand, is designed to make it easy to add an “Add to Cart” button and manage the order process…leaving it up to you to create the product pages as you see fit, using the standard WordPress content creation tools. So, if you want to have a page for your Blue Widget product (for example), you set that page up exactly the way you want it using standard WordPress pages and/or posts. Arrange the product descriptions and images however you want. Then, where you want the “Add to Cart” button to appear, add it using the Cart66 button in the text editor.

    I hope this helps. 🙂
