• I have recently installed NextGenGallery v1.7.4 on a new website running wordpress 3.1

I have had both versions working on other websites but for some reason on this one it isn’t replacing the tag “[nggallery id=1]” with the gallery.

I have tried un-installing and re-installing and even copying the plugin from a website on the same hosting that does work.

    Has anyone got any ideas?

Sorry, here is the website and an example of it not working: http://www.carnivalcreative.com/blog/think-visibility-in-photos/

Hi Ed.. I noticed this. And you might try just [gallery=1]
And you want to make sure that your galleries id is actually 1
click on ‘manage gallery’ under Gallery to see ids.

Hi studioactiv8, thanks for the reply.
I tried using [gallery=1] and although that shows in the admin visual editor, it still does the same on the actual post.
The gallery is definitely number 1 and I used the button on the visual editor to add this tag in (just to be 100% sure it was correct).

    Any more ideas?

i usually make another gallery and try that.. sometimes the database gets kind of quirky if you have messed around too much with a gallery.

Just tried that, no luck. It’s very odd, I’ve never had any trouble with it before.

    that is weird…
Do you have another place to install your theme and test to see if there is something not jiving? It might even be a php issue. Is the server up to date on it’s version of php?

It’s up to date on everything, and it is working on other websites on the same server.
I’ll try copying the theme somewhere else, but I have coded it like I do the rest.
Thanks for all the help though.

right on.. I know how frustrating it is when you hit a snag.
I usually get very deliberate and use ‘reduction’ and ‘testing’
to figure out what is happening.
