• I am planning to provide an own podcast – but later not now.

As of now I am looking for plugin I can add external Feeds (RSS 2.0, MP3 Podcasts, MP4 Podcasts) into a player and embed in my articles and pages.
Can I do this also with Podpress???

If not, does anyone know a plugin I can use instead?

podPress includes the XSPF Jukebox and the WordPress Audio Player (or 1PixelOut Player) (and one other Flash-based player). All players are only capable of playing MP3 files.
The WP Audio Player is basically capable of playing multiple song in a row. But I believe that you need to hand over the list of files in a special format (see http://wpaudioplayer.com/standalone/ section “To load multiple files”).
The XSPF player works with XSPF playlists which are XML-based files. In a way they are like RSS Feeds which are also XML-based. podPress creates such a playlist of the podcast episodes of your blog. But it is also possible to define an URL of an external/remote playlist. (Maybe you need to define and place a crossdomain.xml file in the root directory of your blog (also see the player settings page of podPress).)

But it is not possible to play mp4/m4a files with these players and it is also not possible to subscribe to RSS2 feeds with neither of them.

    Regards,
    Tim
