I just upgraded to WP 3.1 and installed the latest version of WP-DB-Backup.

For a manual backup sent to my email, the progress bar reaches 100% and gives the following two lines:

Your backup has been emailed to **client-email**@domain.com
The following errors were reported: mail() [function.mail]: Failed to Send

Is there anyone with this same problem that has setup and received a weekly backup, or daily, or whichever? I’ve only just installed it and would prefer this method – the above was merely to start me off with an initial backup as the first one was only scheduled for a week from now.
I waited to post this because I setup an automatic email to be sent out every hour and wanted to see if I would receive it and I didn’t.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Colton

  • Colton,

I had the same issue you had. To fix I did the following

    1) Log into my wp-admin page for the site
    2) Go to plugins and search for
    Configure SMTP
    3) Install the plugin by Scott Reilly
    4) Run the plugin. It will provide a form to fill in the mail server.
NOTE: I’m on GoDaddy and through another post I found the mail server needed to be relay-hosting.secureserver.net.

Thanks to Angstrey.com (http://angstrey.com/index.php/2009/04/22/how-to-send-e-mail-with-wordpress-from-godaddy-windows-hosting/) for the article that pointed me in the right direction.

    Hey Shawn,

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question, I appreciate it… the problem actually fixed itself after uninstalling and reinstalling a couple times. I took note of your suggestion in case it happens again.

    Thanks again!
    Colton
