    Having a weird effect with one blog post-upgrade. Everything seems to work correctly, including writing a new post, EXCEPT for editing existing posts. That does not work; what happens when I click Edit from the Manage page is that the Write page opens, the CSS is loaded (I can see the editor switch to the toolbar-enabled view, is what I mean) and then the page jumps to the permalink for the post.

    I've tried disabling all plugins one at a time but no change. This doesn't happen with the other install of WP2 I have on the same server, with most of the same plugins.

    Would really appreciate any constructive suggestions.

    I have downloaded Wordpress 2 and everything was fine.
    i didn't do any database backup, I just uploaded the files to
    the server.
    But now, on my blog (www.leslei.net/blog)
    When I want to change the skin of the page on the page itself,
    I click once but the skin continues the same, then I click again
    then the skin changes. But on the page adress doesn't display
    http://www.leslei.net/blog, it displays
    http://www.leslei.net/blog/index.php?wptheme=(the name of the theme)
    What can I do to fix this?

    Updated as per the instructions and everything works like a charm! I love the new admin interface, by the way.

    everyone here volunteers to help, please don't expect an immediate response.

    I also have that problem on your blog, perhaps the code setting it is not working as it should? is is compatiable with WP 2.0?

    Perhaps check wether the code is fully compatiable with 2.0

    I had an issue with my installation that I could not activate any plugins. The page would display the text "Plugin activated" even though it was not. I was able to fix it with a minor change to the plugins.php file. Please look here.  Basically I needed to add an exit command after the header(’Location: XXX’); commands.  Don't know why this was not a problem in the past but it was screwing me up.

    Ok something really is odd now, despite me changing all the URIs. I have the two installations: 1.2.2 and 2.0, but when I log onto to one of them, I can't log onto the other.

    I can successfully log into one admin panel, and use all the controls within. I can log out and log back in again. When I go to the other admin panel, I get the login screen, and I just keep getting the login screen no matter how many times I try and login in. If I close the tab and go directly back into the admin panel, I can get to the dashboard but as soon as I click on another link I get redirected back to the login page.

    If I restart my computer, I can choose to login to either one and login successfully but upon doing so I can't login to the other one.

    Hi,

    I upgraded to 2.0 and it is working at my site though there is a minor glitch.

    When I goto write a new post or page I get this message,

    Error: Could not find the template function : TinyMCE_advanced_getEditorTemplate

    Any ideas what is wrong?

    Any word on when a. themes will be downloadable (I get 404s on all the 2.0 compliant themes) or b. 1.5 themes might be useable (are there that many changes to the presentation?).

    Sounds like Alex King needs to have a new theme throwdown.

    b. Most v1.5.x themes should be compatible with WP v2.0. The only adjustment made to the theme system for WP v2.0 was the added possibility of a special theme-specific plugin-like settings page and a thumbnail for each theme to display in the Presentation menu.     Weird little thingy, might be overlooking something, but when comments are posted, it says on the frontpage that there aren't any. Althoguh for older posts it DOES say there are comments. What am I missing here?

    More to the point, where has the download link gone? It's not on the beta page anymore and the support topic that did have the link has disappeared

    EDIT: Just discovered that the Release Candidate isn't there any more because Wordpress 2.0 has been released.

    Hi.

    I'm unable to see where to create a new topic so I'll leave
    my question here.
    After upgrading to WP 2.0, I changed by mistake the field
    WordPress address (URI) from

    http://www.rubenbcn.com/blog

    to

    http://www.rubenbcn.com/

    and now I can't access or change anything in the dashboard.
    I get this message when i try to change it back:

    Sorry, you need to enable sending referrers for this feature
    to work.

    The blog doesn't work properly now so can anyone can help me?

    Well, one way to fix that (probably the hard way) is to FTP all the WP files to the main directory, change the WordPress URI field back to http://www.rubenbcn.com/blog/, then FTP the WP files back to the original placement.

    I'm getting several request on wordpress-it.it italian forum about a problem with plugin. People upgrade correctly, all works fine but the plugin doesn't activate, the activate msg show up but the status still remain activate and the plugin is not working.

    The plugins are all compatible with 2.0

    If you click on the Download tab at the top of the page, you'll see the current link blocks for zip and tar.gz distros....

    Will some flavor of comment previewing ever be a standard feature in WordPress? Most other popular weblog software has it and I’m quite disappointed it’s not included with 2.0 (AFAICT).

    I always dread posting stylized comments on WP weblogs without the ability to preview how they’ll be displayed. Or am I missing something that already provides that functionality? Thanks for any suggestions.

    I just upgraded my wp 1.5 to 2.0. Everything seem working just fine EXCEPT all my Å, Ä and Ö's (swedish characters) are gone! They are still there in the admin area!
    My.mo files are uploaded in my languages folder..

    Thanks to all hard working wordPress developers!
    What a Christmas gift!

    I followed the very precise instructions for upgrading, althoug I already had the RC2 installed.
    I made a backup of my database with the backup plugin and
    a backup of all directories in my WP installation,
    disabled all plugins and
    deleted all files and directories except the wp-content directory and the wp-config.php config file.
    I then copied the wp 2.o distribution to my server blog directory.
    Finally I run the wp-admin/upgrade.php script from my browser.
    I checked my permalink structure and as I’m not using any .htacess file, it worked as before.

    So now I’m off to check my plugins.

    Upgrade over RC3 worked just fine; all the plugins that worked in RC3 are still fine. Permalinks are fine (so far) though I understand there seems to be a "time bomb" situation for some people?

    I guess the next thing is to try upgrading a 1.5.2 install....

    Aziza: I don't know what the problems are with your "special" Swedish characters. As a Swede I'm also using the same characters and I still have them after installing WP 2.0.

    This is something unicode was supposed to solve. However it's not without complications.

    The browser will see an XHTML page with a certain charcter set like UTF-8 or iso-8859-1 and should interpret the page content accordingly.
    The content is stored in a MySQL database and it is also possible to set the character set for the database.

    Well I have no idea on whats wrong.. I've checked my settings everywhere and it still says iso-8859-1, still my å, ä and ö's are gone in my posts but not in my sidebar for an instance! Strange!

    Strange indeed!
    Maybe you should check how it looks inside your database using mySQL Admin.
    I'm using charset=UTF-8 which you may view source at my dummy blog at http://petitpub.com/blog/
    ( This is relly a dummy so far and not released :-)
