Support » Plugin: WordPress Gallery Plugin - NextGEN Gallery » [Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] NextGEN gallery images not found after move to new host

  • I just moved my site to another host (uploaded the database & ftp’d files). The NextGEN image galleries are no longer displaying any images — I get an error on the page: [Gallery not found]

The images are on the server, and I am unable to save any settings in NextGEN. Do I have to reset NextGEN and reupload the images?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Close thread please. I reset the gallery and got things working.

Can you tell me what you mean by “I reset the gallery”? I’m having the same problem. thanks.

In the left-hand column under “Gallery,” there is an option to “Reset/Uninstall.” Click it and you can reset things. I had nothing to lose, so I clicked it and my photos appeared.

    Good luck! 🙂

Can you help with the following:

I need to move about 1500 images from one hosting company to another…same domain name and different database….How to I move all galleries?

    Can you explain more…thanks

    Hi Ed. 🙂

If I remember correctly, all I did was export the WordPress files (left column under Tools), and saved that file. Then I downloaded the database from my webhost account area, and saved that file.

I also saved all of my files via FTP, just in case.

When I moved to the new webhosting company, I created a new database with the same name of the database file I had downloaded. I think I uploaded that file to the new database.

Then I imported the WordPress files (under Tools in the left column).

After I did the above, my site was working, but none of my NextGen images were showing. I saw all the images listed in my Dashboard, but they did not show up. I tried resetting NextGen (In the left-hand column under “Gallery,” there is an option to “Reset/Uninstall”), and that made all of my images appear.

    I hope this helps. 🙂

    @mpfc97:

I am having the same issue as you had with the NextGen Gallery after moving a WP site – says [gallery not found]. I did the following:

    1. Reset the gallery as you had above.
    2. Deactivated then reactivated the plugin.
    3. Updated to the most recent version.

None of those seem to have helped – do you remember if you did anything else besides hit “reset” in the Gallery plugin?

    Thanks!

Hmmm… I actually don’t recall doing anything else that worked. The only thing that finally worked was resetting the gallery.

Did you upload your database file to your new database of the same name? 😉

I’ve been having this issue for ages, and everytime I move hosts and/or installation, the galleries themselves never reappear under GALLERY >> MANAGE GALLERY.

Before I just create a new gallery, move the old files to the newly created gallery folder via FTP, then rename the folders.

But now I have several hundreds of folders nad I don’t have the patience of doing that.

NGG kinda sucks, wished I never used it before (noob mistake) as it also doesn’t work well with most of the premium, popular theme platforms like thesis/genesis (thumbnails never work)
