• Hi, all. I’ve installed wordpress 1.5.2 and used Blix0.9.1 template. While I set the ‘Comment author must fill out name and e-mail’ in discussion options, it didn’t work. No matter it was ticked or not, the name, email textbox didn’t appear in the comment page. It’s very strange because I set the same environment in my localhost (Windows XP) and it works. It looks that the system only doesn’t work in the web server ( http://lifelongblog.org/?p=402).

In addition, I tried to unclick the option ‘Allow people to post comments on the article’, the comment box was still there without name or email textbox. Dose anybody know how to solve it?

  • I suspect that the theme does not obey these options and is simply hardcoding these fields. When testing this on your localhost (DozeXP), did you also put the theme on top? Try stripping off the theme and see the effect. Themes can break functionality if improperly built.

Yes, the orders of the theme in both localhost and server are the same. Anyway I’ll try to remove them and reset it, thanks.

Check the users list in Options > Users. Do you have a user you didn’t set up? Delete it.

    brilliant!

thanks moshu. I think the problem happened when I imported the data from MT. The system created a user without any attributes and related it with the posts. I deleted the user in mysql and solved it.
