Support » Plugins » Ajax Spell Checker

  • I just installed this dandy little spell checker and for some reason something isn’t working properly. There are 2 links that appear while writing. One is above the text area that says spell check while writing. When I click on that it won’t allow my cursor to go forward or back.

The other link is under the text area that says “Check Spelling” and so after I write a post and check spelling the link appears to be dead and down in the bottom left hand corner on my IE browser says error on page normally where the destination URL appears…

Any ideas why this may be happening??
    Thanks

  • Have you contacted the author of the plug-in? It would be hard to judge as we have no access to the editor, so can’t see for ourselves. Maybe it’s a known bug that is described in the form of comments in the author’s homepage. There are other spellchecker tools, by the way. Some of them are browser-bound.

I could contact him. Do you know of any simple spell checkers that seem to be bug free?

There are a couple posters who need it..

Spellbound for the Mozilla suite seems to be okay. I say “okay” because it used to have some quirks that I got accustomed to. I personally use ispell in a text editor to check my posts in the forum for typos. Now, if only I proofread as well.

Either way and last of all, Konqueror has a ‘built-in check spelling as you type’ capability. HTMLArea has a spellchecker as well. If you tell me what you have (also what platform), I can give you some links.
