• Hello,

I have two questions about the Add CNAME button in the cdn section of the plugin. By the way I am using the self-hosted cdn settings.

If you set up the first cdn, lets call it cdn1.domain.com and wanted to add additional cdn’s like cdn2.domain.com, cdn3.domain.com where would you input the ftp hostname, ftp username, ftp password and path for the additional cdn’s?

Also when you click on the Add CNAME button, the first one says “reserved for css”, second one is “reserved for js in <head>” so besides the credentials to access those domains how do you tell the plugin what files go where?

Awhile back I read somewhere, about an _htaccess file that was located inside wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/ini/_htaccess which in theory would allow you to input those settings manually and then the file would be moved to the root of the cdn. But I can’t locate the file anywhere.

For the record I am using the development version of the plugin.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

  • I wondered the same thing when i started setting up my self-hosted cdn. Unfortunately you can only have one self-hosted cdn per site.

Thanks for answering kfawcett, I think there is a way, at least I hope.

It might be one of those features not used by many and perhaps not talked about much.

Multiple CDNs is not supported, but multiple aliases are.

    Hello Frederick

After a few days of posting this, I found additional information by looking at the forums that answers the .htaccess file part of the question (which was used before but now w3tc does that automatically), so scratch this one off.

It was my bad to say multiple cdn’s, so if we want to configure multiple cnames do all of them need the same logging credentials, or can they be different? and last do we have to tell the plugin somewhere which things to upload where i.e. css, js, etc or is this managed by the plugin internally

So to rephrase my question “If you set up the first cname, lets call it cdn1.domain.com and wanted to add additional cname’s like cdn2.domain.com, cdn3.domain.com where would you input the ftp hostname, ftp username, ftp password and path for the additional cname’s?

Thank you for stopping by and thanks in advance for your response.

    You’re welcome.
