• If you could tell me whther I need to persue this with them or if it is something on my end I would really appreciate it.

I supplied my blog feed at this Feed Validator site, it said it validates but when recving my own feed thru Bloglines, I get this error:

“Bloglines has encountered an error trying to fetch the latest version of this feed. Bloglines handles errors automatically, no action is required by you. The error was:

The feed does not appear to exist. This can be caused by the feed URL being incorrect, or it can be caused by a configuration issue with the server hosting the feed. If this error continues, you should check the feed URL and, if it is wrong, subscribe to the correct URL.”

so if I could be told which route to troubleshoot this with, I would be very grateful. (uninstall each plugin and reinstall one at a time because of opening blank line I read about, my host server setup problem, my button setup wrong…)

Do you get an error when using my blog’s RSS button? TIA.

    I get a 404 with that.

You do or Bloglines does? ‘Cause it works fine here.

Attempt to turn on full permalinks if you can.

I immediately put it back to the original feed. Your RSS2 feed gave me a 404 error.

So, back to the beginning, mine (that you just saw fine) gives me the error inside BlogLines when I am reading my own feed, that is what I am trying to fix. I can read the feeds but I get the js error from them that I posted above. If you could go to my blog, click on the rss icon and feed it into BlogLines (or any other aggregator I guess), I am trying to find out how to get rid of that error because I think this is also why I am not able to use the new Firefox extension where you can blog from inside their browser. Others can use it but their server doesn’t like my XML feed according to their error msg. But forgetting about their ext., I want to get rid of the js error I get in BlogLines, I think one will cure the other. TIA.

Is this problem something I could expect to get magically fixed when I upgrade to WP2.0 and perhaps even use Yahoo for my WP hosting as just announced?

    bump

FWIW, I’m getting this same problem on a number of my WP sites, all running 1.5.x. I’ll upgrade to WP2.0 in due course (anybody verified that fixes it?) but the problem appears to have occurred with Bloglines only, in late December.

I have contacted Bloglines support about it, and would suggest anybody else affected do the same.

I’m having problems with Bloglines too. I just installed WP 2.0 after using Blogger for some time. I have a number of people subscribed via Bloglines using atom.xml. WP doesn’t make that file, so those subscriptions just give errors. No amount of fussing on my part has produced something remotely workable for atom.xml.

I tried using Bloglines to subscribe to the RSS feeds that WP provides and while Bloglines doesn’t give me errors, it also doesn’t notice any new posts I make.

I’m happy to ask my subscribers to use a different feed, but I can’t seem to make Bloglines notice any of them.

    Advice?

Bloglines support got back to me, pointing out an error in my feed when checked by feedvalidator.org. Not actually an error, a warning about relative links/images. I didn’t think it would help, but dutifully removed the relative links/images from my last few posts, verified that feedvalidator wasn’t giving warnings, and tried the feed again in Bloglines. No go. Have let Bloglines support know this, will await the next reply.

luvmoose, did your blog ever have an atom.xml? Was it using Blogger or similar before? You could try using .htaccess to redirect /atom.xml to /feed/atom or /?feed=atom

    See http://www.javascriptkit.com/howto/htaccess7.shtml for details.
