Yes, anybody still running 1.5.x or earlier should continue to use WP Contact Form 1.3 This is for anybody testing Wordpress 2.0 to try out and confirm that it works so when people upgrade, they have a plugin available that will continue to work.

A few bugs have been rolled out and its now at 1.4.2 Please test and confirm it works. Use the link above to track changes.

1.4.2 has been tested OK and I back ported all those changes to 1.3.1 for all users of Wordpress 1.5.x

Posted 3 years ago #1.4.2 is working just fine here on a RC3 test install, Ryan. Icon is showing up on the toolbar next to the help icon, form submits are great, config options work perfectly. Running under Firefox 1.07 (still waiting for some of my FF plugins to be updated before I upgrade). -kj-

Posted 3 years ago #Awesome. However, isn't there a problem with giving the submit button an id rather than a class? I mean, what if, for some crazy reason, I had two contact forms on one page?
kjarrett: Assuming it just the max version number stopping your favorite plugins from working, check out this plugin. It'll allow you to force plugins to be compatible. ;)

Posted 3 years ago #No, I'm talking about if you put two contacts form on one page, it'll break page validness as you can't have multiple IDs with the same name. And since I see no need for it to be an ID, I was suggesting sticking to using a class.

Posted 3 years ago #Yeah, I know what you're talking about. If it's a problem, one simply renames the ID to class. Most people won't have more than one contact form in the first place. Those that do can simply change the ID to a class, and change the css as needed. Why make a big deal of it with the author? It's a simple fix-it in the file and the css.
My personal preference is IDs. I only use classes when forced. A contact form should be singular - why would you need more than one on any given page?

Posted 3 years ago #I just installed a contact form and I entered the code into a page and it doesn't fit the page. Maybe it is because I use 3 rows but the form gets pushed all the way down underneath the sidebar..

It might be that your content area is too narrow. Try to work a bit on the stylesheet of the contactform (it used to be at the bottom), maybe you can fit it in. -
I've changed contactsubmit from an id to a class in the 1.x branch and it will be a part of the next version.
I've also made an empty
.contactsubmit{
}in the css so anybody can edit and add their styling.

Posted 3 years ago #Is there a way to add a captcha to the contact form? Ok there are some measures in place to prevent multipart nasties (Though naughty-word-checking on ALL fields should be done IMO as you can inject via the subject IIRC?)
Besides stopping the cross-site nasties I still get a STACk of spam through the contact form, so the ability to easily include a captcha or spam-karma-esque filter would be lovely.
Anyone got any pointers?

Posted 3 years ago #I installed wp-contactform 1.4.3 on wp 2.0.3. The plugin doesn't show up in the admin-option panel. (it is activated in the admin-plugin panel). so there is no way I can use this plugin.

ciber - I'd check that installation. I'm using 1.4.3 with WP 2.0.3 with no issues at all. Make sure permissions are correct and that you don't have it nested in one too many folders.

I re-installed the plugin again, same issue. sorry I am pretty new to wordpress, do you mind explain it a little more about permission? what permission are you referring to? also, I uploaded the files to wp-conent/plugins/wp-contact-form/ based on the instruction. I could not figure out what is wrong, and I think there must be something wrong with the installation since yours is running fine. thanks again!

Posted 3 years ago #I was going to post my troubles on this board, but I manage dto find the solution [though why I don't know]
I had installed this plugin and activated it as was outlined, but it didn't work [but it, I mean whether manually inserting <!--contact form--> or locating the button, which did not appear].
After deactivating, deleting, reinstalling, and trying a variety of things, I finally decided to log out and log back into the admin panel. This fixed the problem.

Posted 3 years ago #I'm using 1.4.3 in WP 2.0. When I publish the post in which the contact form is used, it pushes my other posts off to the right, almost as if it is aligning around them. I made some small additions to the form for my use, but nothing that should have had this result.
Anybody know how to fix this?

Posted 3 years ago #I figured out the problem with the alignment, but now have another question. Take a look at UNSG.org and find the post entitled "Ask the Candidates". I get the information submitted in all the filed, EXCEPT the candidates. I don't have to have this, but it would be extremely desirable.
Any ideas on why the data is not being sent? Could it be something to do with the possibility of multiple choices?
