• We run a number of WordPress sites for different clients as well as my own blog on WordPress.com.

    On several installs we experience the same problem with tables set up to display photos disappearing.

    An example is on this site: http://www.prasarnmitinternationalprogram.com

    If you click on the faculty teacher tab at http://www.prasarnmitinternationalprogram.com/faculty/ you will see a nice page of staff photos and text.

    Clicking on the Thai language equivalent (last tab on the right) at http://www.prasarnmitinternationalprogram.com/thai/faculty/ you will see a blank page.

    While the text is Thai, the images are the same as on the English language page. We get the same white screen problem if we copy and paste the English language content into the Thai page.

    We’ve increased php.ini memory to 128Mbytes
    We’ve installed TinyMCE Advanced and that fixed the problems on some sites/pages but not on others.

    I have the same problem on my WordPress.com blog once I install a moderate amount of text and 12 or 14 cells containing images.

    All of the images are no larger than 1024 x 768 at 72dpi.

    The fault repeats itself irrespective of what template is being used and whether plugins are disabled or not.

    The standard response from WordPress is that our table code is wrong – typically:

    <table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="430">
    <tbody>
    <tr>
    <td align="center" valign="top">Photo coming soon 170</td>
    <td align="center" valign="top">Photo coming soon 170</td>
    <td align="center" valign="top">Photo coming soon 170 </td>
    <td align="center" valign="top">Photo coming soon 170</td>
    </tr>
    </tbody></table>

    While WordPress so-called “Happiness Engineers” are quick to claim it’s our code, no one is able to say what is wrong with it. It’s now getting to the point where we will soon start moving our clients over to Joomla-based systems if we can not solve this problem.

    We’ve had this problem on WordPress.com for over 18 months, and the problem seems to be getting worse with each update and WordPress are keeping their heads in the sand over it.

    Any suggestions?

    If you would have read the post correctly it said: “The standard response from WordPress is that our table code is wrong”

    and

    “While WordPress so-called “Happiness Engineers” are quick to claim it’s our code”

    and

    “… and WordPress are keeping their heads in the sand over it.”

    Doesn’t that give you the understanding that it HAS been asked over there? And to the so-called WordPress support?

    Thanks for your valuable contribution though, sheer genius.

    wp.com works different from self hosted wp installs

    In general the people here cannot answer why stuff at wp.com does not work

    I found ZERO posts here that asks why the standard wp has … Disappearing tables, vanishing photos – white screen of death

    YOur attitude hints at why get no decent replies from them

    I can be rude too:

    It is a sheer genius that stays with WordPress.com when they ignore you for 18 months !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    And you are a total idiot.

    Do the comments point to a WordPress.com site?

    I suggest you improve your reading skills. The WordPress.com reference was added to show the same fault exists on BOTH wordpress installs. Your contribution to this discussion is totally valueless.

    I’d also suggest you improve your search technique because there are dozens of references to disappearing tables, photos and “WordPress white screen of death”

    http://www.google.com/search?q=Wordpress+white+screen+of+death&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

    And I’m perfectly entitled to have attitude about this problem seing that WordPress’ only response to this issue in 18 months has been:

    1. There is something wrong with your code (so what is it?)
    2. Split your photographs over multiple pages.

    If you find those answers to me satisfactory then you’re obviously not building sites like we build.
