• I had uploaded a few .jpg picture files. I just went to upload one or two more an after a wait there was the message ‘Cannot upload files of this type.’ I cleaned out my Temp directories, checked my Firefox settings ect. and still get the same message.
I would appreciate anyone shedding some light on this.

    Kind regards,
    Stephen.

Check the settings in Options/Miscellanious. Is jpg an allowed file extension?

Thank you Mac, but I have another problem here. Please excuse me if this is really obtuse. I clicked the ‘Options’ but I can’t see anything there called ‘Miscellaneous.’ It just says ‘General Options’ with settings for date and time, and a few other things.
I’ve Googled this and searched in the Codex. I can find nothing.
    Thanks for any help.
    Stephen.

Miscellaneous_Options_SubPanel in Codex explains that panel.

“Miscellaneous” is another link on the Options submenu – below the Options link and above the General Options heading.

Just out of curiosity…. what’s the URL of the site having problems?

I’m sorry, but we cannot support WordPress.com blogs here.

WordPress.com. is using a custom back-end system to distribute WordPress blogs, similar to WordPress MU. Despite the WordPress-branded blogs that it produces, its back-end system and the features offered in each blog are quite different from those offered by the normal distribution of WordPress. As such, we have no experience with it, and there is no way that we can support it here.

To receive support for your WordPress.com blog, please use the “Feedback” link in your admin interface.

Alternatively, you may post at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/wordpressdotcom/ and we’ll try to help further.

out of curiosity, but how much of the code needed to be rewritten for the wordpress.com website? And if I were to download and use the WordPress MU, would I be able to set up something similar to wordpress.com?

Ah….. I think you’d have to talk to Matt and Dougal about that. Haven’t a clue….

Everyone, thanks to you all for your help anyway.
