Adding tags also adds categories

    Hi, whenever I add a new “tag” to a post, automatically a new category same as “tag” is created. What could be the possible reason?

    Could be a ‘feature’ of your theme, or a plugin. Try a different theme to rule out that possibility. If that does not solve the problem, try disabling all plugins.

    It didn’t happen earlier. I’ve not changed the theme since.

    Thanks for your advice, I shall try disabling all plugins and re-enabling them.

    You should still try switching to the Twenty Ten theme to see if the problem persists. Your theme may have gotten corrupted, or it may have an option that got switched on somehow.
