• I usually screw things up enough to where they give up and work (in some capacity), but not in this case. Can anyone tell me why all the information on this page disappears when I add a 16th download button? All I’m left with is the header, comments and footer when I add the 16th download button.

Any combination of 15 download buttons works. It doesn’t matter where they are–first, last, middle of the page, but as soon as I add a 16th one, poof! gone! Really weird.

Right now I don’t have one on the last song, but if I added it you wouldn’t see anything.

I thought maybe the Share/Save buttons might be causing it, but I turned them off for pages and that didn’t make any difference. Then I deleted the top paragraphs just to see if it was length that was causing it, no, that didn’t work either.

The problem only shows up when I add this the 16th time.

    <a href="../downloads/music-zip-files/15-Lord-May-I-Stand.mp3.zip"><img class="alignnone" title="Lord, May I Stand - 5.08MB" src="../wp-content/uploads/c-site-icons/download-button2.png" alt="" width="80" height="30" /></a>

    Thanks for any help.

  • It could be a server configuration issue similar to this one: http://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/14134

Wow, lucky me. It’s not like I don’t have enough challenges already. I’m still struggling with inserting images. This is way way way over my head. I guess I’ll just send this along to my Host and see what they can do.

Thanks for digging that up, esmi. I’m very fortunate that you knew about it and could find the info. Amazing! I would have wasted another three or four hours (maybe more) before I gave up in utter frustration.

    Many. many thanks.

After a long confusing and frustrating chat with my Host (the guy works in Customer Support but didn’t want to help. Go figure), they finally confirmed the problem. Now I just have to wait for the techs to move on it.

Thanks again, esmi. I would have been completely lost in the dark without your help.

No problem. I hope you manage to get it sorted.

My host said there’s nothing they can do on their end because the site is on a shared server. They can’t increase the settings to fit my needs.

I ended up fixing it by setting the most recent posts in the sidebar from fifteen down to ten. That made it so I can show all the download links on the page. The thing is, though, I have to really keep an eye on this. I have a lot of stuff to add to this site and once the menu grows I’ll be over the limit again for that page. It just seems odd to have this kind of limitation. I hope WordPress can do something about how this is handled.

I don’t fully understand the reasons for this problem. I just know that there is one.
