• Recently upgraded to the latest version of BackWPup and the backup to DropBox functionality stopped working. Has anyone experienced this problem?

  • I just used the Dropbox functionality today but did run into a bug which might be your problem, too. Since my dropbox password had characters in it other than letters and numbers, the plugin stripped out these characters and I got a “login error”.

When I changed my dropbox password to use only letters and numbers, it worked.

This needs to be fixed because it may also strip out password characters for the other backup services.

sorry i have changed the password saving in the database so its not save in clear text. That is why the password must set again.

I have problems with DropBox. [ERROR] DropBox: Cannot execute request: select/poll returned error

I tried the public folder and one that I created and shared with my same user-email that owns the drop box account. My dropbox is using 3% of 2GB

test it with 1.6.0. ther is a new clas that uses the dropbox api.

Still get the redline error. Cannot backup to DropBox.

    I the following error:
[ERROR] Can not Auth with DropBox API: Only the app owner can receive access token while this app is in development mode

I’m getting the same error as @rlidzy.
[ERROR] Can not Auth with DropBox API: Only the app owner can receive access token while this app is in development mode

Probably something left in development mode by the plugin author. Should be a quick fix.

Me too… Getting the same message after upgrading to the latest version,

[ERROR] Can not Auth with DropBox API: Only the app owner can receive access token while this app is in development mode

I have just discovered BackWPup a fortnight ago and it’s everything I have longed for! GREAT plug-in, Daniel! Thanks a lot so far.
It has been running smoothly ever since – until today when I installed it on another wp-installation with exactly the same default configuration (saving to my dropbox). Suddenly, I get the same error message as above on both WP-installations. (Both running WP3.1 and latest atahualpa theme).
Oddly enough, the first installation ran a succesful daily scheduled backup at 10.42.17 GMT+1. (≈ 4 hours ago).
The failed schedules were all forced from the panel by clicking the “Run now” button. Both are on the same IP-no, but different domains.
    Hope this will help clarify.

the changes in the last version uses the right dropbox API.

Dropbox must give my API Key free i hope that it goes quikly…

I’m not even using the Dropbox backup option but I’m getting this error in my log files now, with BackWPup 1.60 and WordPress 3.1:

[ERROR] Can not Auth with DropBox API: Only the app owner can receive access token while this app is in development mode

Why is it trying to access DropBox when I have not selected that option in the backup job. All dropbox fields are empty.
