    Hi

When users click the confirmation link in their email, they have to still tick the post and check “Resume” on the subscription page.

This is very confusing, because they are not resuming, it is a new subscription.

Is it possible that when a user clicks the link in the email, it just subscribes them, so they don’t have to click any further checkboxes/buttons?

This is the way most double opt-in systems work. After all, you have already ascertained the user wants to subscribe because they’ve chosen to follow the link in the email.

    Thanks
    Simon

  • Hi,

there must be something wrong with your settings, because when users click the confirmation link, they should be shown a page that says “thank you for confirming your subscription, blah blah”. They shouldn’t be required to check “Resume” on their management page. Unless you have to manually approve these comments before they go live. In this case those subscriptions will be considered ‘pending’ until you approve them, and if the user clicks the confirmation link, he will be asked to manually activate that “pending” subscription. Does it make sense?

    Thank you,
    Camu

I got this behaviour too but it was my fault. I was logged in as admin & I added a test-subscription using one of my email addresses. Clicking the confirmation link took me to the situation described above. Clicking the confirmation link in another browser where I was not logged in worked perfectly.

This is the behaviour I would expect. ie., it is working perfectly.

I wrote this just in case someone did the same thing.

    Vote: Five stars! Great plugin.
    Thanks

    Thank you for clarifying!

@cadbloke: that’s exactly my scenario as my site is currently not publicly viewable, so i have to be logged in to view it. hopefully all will be ok when i put it live to the public.

    many thanks

    It will, it will 🙂
