I would like to have full control of my wordpress site as I already do but from time to time I will require an advanced user to make change to theme template files or site settings without having access to page editing, what is the next highest role without full access that could allow such changes to be made.

    Thank you

Hope this doesn’t sound BAD but how does this support forum work, does it always take hours or days to get a response which is a long time to wait for any assists for persons whom require assistane. I don’t mean to sound unappreciative as I can understand this is a free support service but how do I speed the response time of my post for all the basic question I need assistance with.

Thank you for any of your time, It is appreciated.

Most of the people answering questions are volunteers, bumping posts within a few hours is considered inappropriate. Better to wait 24 hours before doing so. So yes it can take hours, and sometimes days.

However, not every one will be able to answer every question, and it may be that no-one has got an answer for you.

But to answer your question – Look at role managers type plugins that can change what people have access to.

    Hello again Rich’elfin’ Pedley

I am trying to use as many post to learn about things that I reqiure, however not many post are all related to exactly what I require. Are you telling me you can not answer this question or is it a bit basic for you as by directing me some were else it only creates more post and takes up more time of all you good people helping out.

To make this easier is there a plugin which can give us control of any type of access privilege setting you or I could want to set, meaning we can have full control of who can do what.

Thank you for your time again and again.

I do not mean to ask you question that may sound silly to you however I am not an IT person, So the reason I ask question is to save me days of seaching for things that may not be possible as I do also have a day job.

Thank you for your time again and again.

problem is I don’t know all the plugins, and what I find useful, may not be useful to you.

I use: User Role Editor because I found it easier, and more suited to my needs than some of the others.

Again I do appreciate your time and thank you for your comments. If you could just assist one last question.

Is it possible with what you know to completely control additional users access taylored to what admin user what to allow or disallow
    for other level user access.

    This includes settings.

More or less, with that plugin you can create new roles ala subscriber, editor etc You can give them access to whatever via the options, and even set it up to be the default role.

and so far as I know, you can add as many as you like.

As to Plugin User Role Editor when I select role why do I not see Administrator in drop down list is the Administrator unchangeable and will it always have complete access of all capabilities – Editor, Author, Contributor, Subscriber are the only changeable options in this drop down.
Where do I find more information about each capability as I have no idea what level 0 to 10 are for and would like to read more information about each capability? Is there a list with this info?

Thank you for your time much appreciated.
