• When I tried the five minute install, it informed me it could not write the file. So, I copied and pasted the info in the box and uploaded wp_config.php and now I get the message:

Failed to open page: Safari can’t open the page “http://bevinsequipment.com/wp-admin/install.php” because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection. This sometimes occurs when the server is busy. Wait for a few minutes, and then try again.

Using Firefox, it tried to open the file rather than run the PHP file.

    Suggestions?

  • If you have uploaded wp_config.php then you have uploaded wrong file. It should be wp-config.php.

Sorry, that was a typo in my post. The file is named wp-config.php.

I also noticed that my server is running MySQL 4.0.25-standard. Would that make a difference vs. the requirement of version 4.1.2 or higher. Will that make a difference?

    Would permissions cause this problem?

The error log shows File does not exist: /home/httpd/vhosts/bevinsequipment.com/httpdocs/favicon.ico

    The site is bevinsequipment.com

Yes the minimum requirements are indeed requirements.
