hm. it shows up on my browser (firefox) and in IE…don’t know why you can’t see it

It doesn’t render properly on my browser (FF 1.5). What I think is your sidebar (arvhives, pages, …) shows up underneath the posts.

I’ve spent the last day re-doing it, so I was probably in the middle of editing it

Works now in IE and FF at all resolution

    any other advise???

I like the colors, the design and the idea.

The only thing I dont like is the lack of images/visual interest. Maybe a graphic…snazzy logo…? Something in the header would be good. If nothing else…the times new roman/georgia font is a little plain.

Thats the only thing negative I could find. gooood job.

Graphics are my weakest point. Eventually I know I’m going to have to come up with something, but I really have no expirience doing that kind of stuff.

Yes, the website needs to have a style about it… otherwise it will look like every other site, and despite our best efforts content alone usually doesn’t win readers… mostly because there’s LOTS of good content. You need some flavor… and I would also clean up the finer details (like cross-browser compatability and all those rounded corners… like on my site).

Ya, I agree about the style. It is a good start! I must admit that I am a sucker for rounded corners. 😛
Good luck with graphics as well.

    thanks

good effort. however the page does not validate.

To be honest, I could care less about validation. WordPress.org doesn’t even validate. In fact, about90% of all sites don’t validate.

WarAxe: I strongly disagree. Style (especially trivialities like rounded corners) don’t make a good website. Even looking “just like every other site”, you can run a popular website.

I would say there are far more sites that look great (fully cross-browser compatible, lots of style, fully rounded corners, … what not) but feature mundane content rather than the other way around.

There is probably the “LOTS of good content” you talk about. But there is so much more of “Hey, look at my shiny website but don’t mind my subpar content” out there.

Somewhat true, wahgnube, but then again some people’s “mundane” content is important to THEM – they don’t care about ranking etc….

WP CAN be all things to all people. It’s not necessary to limit it to “content is king” or “shiny hardware”. I myself like content, but I understand that others have other attitudes. I also like theme-play and graphics….
