How to remove posts from index

    This is my homepage http://www.rantages.com

    What I want to do is remove the recent post the one on the front page currently now is “Rantage 25: Tweenagerfail” I want that to be removed but I can’t figure out the code.
    I can’t use a static page because the slider which is included in the theme only comes up if I only Recent Posts
    This is the index.php
