Crafty Cart Issues – haven't seen solution elsewhere

So, I’m working to modify the Crafty Cart e-commerce template. I’m fairly new to this but have been able to figure out most of it. my main issue at the moment is that my sidebar won’t function as the demo does.

If you click on the “Add To Cart” a neat little grid appears as well as a couple of buttons.

I think the issue may have to do with some stuff I found in the editor under the “theme functions” template.

It says:

And I have no idea what that means.

Any help would be much appreciated
