• I am in need of some assistance, and was hoping someone might be able to help. Right now my website, http://www.socalstandup.com is not WordPress based. It’s on another CMS called Geeklog. I have a few other websites that are WordPress based and I love it. I really want SoCalStandUp to be on WP.

I have not moved Socalstandup.com to WordPress for 2 reasons…

    1. I have over 1000 members now and I don’t know how to get the database moved/converted. (I’m at the point where I’m almost willing to just add them 1 at a time.) I found a converter but it’s for older versions of Geeklog and WordPress.

    2. This is the big one. I run open mics. Every member on my website has a login. Every member is a comedian. Geeklog has an event registration plugin that is SO SIMPLE… The comic logs in with their username and password, they click the event on the sidebar they are interested in, and then all they have to do is hit “REGISTER ME.” They are on the list. I can set the maximum number of comics that can be on a particular event. They can log back in and unregister themselves. It’s really easy. All the WordPress event managers out there that I’ve looked at, make it so they need to fill out forms and additional info that make it harder than how my current event manager is. I just want them to be able to login and get on the list with a click once logged in.

If anyone can safely migrate my users over to WP and point me in the direction or help create a event plugin like the one I use, that would be awesome. I don’t have a very big budget unfortunately (I’m a comic myself…) But I’m really wanting to get this site moved over. Any help or direction you could point me in would be appreciated!

    Thanks…
