   Hi,
   First of all my apologies if I'm not in the right place for my question.
   I have the next idea for my blog: I would like to use a gallery (have no idea which one) where there is the possibility of registered guests to log in and up-load images and even make theire own albums (not a must). Also I would like it so, that I can randomly up-load an image from this gallary in one of my side bar boxes, and have the possibility to integrate it with world press.
   I've tried Coppermine with the integrate and fetch plugins but...this is just to difficult for me to understand and get it working. I gave up on Coppermine. There must be one gallery out there that makes it easy for noobs like me...and here where you come in, does anybody have any suggestions for a simple and easy gallery that would fulfill my idea?

   and even not being an expert in gallery issues: if you have so many and complicated requirements for an integrated gallery, then there is no "easy" way. I know nowadays everybody wants ready-made one-click solutions (and instant gratification:) but the world just doesn't work in that way.

   If it worked that way, the world would be less interesting Moshu, and yes I know there is no easy way but all I would like is some suggestions that could lead to me to galleries that are less complicated to install and integrate than the one I've been working with.
   I would like some sleep :) as I didn't get much of that lately with the programme I was working with.

   Thnx Dotnature,

   Tried to install it and now I'm in big argument with web-host. No php.ini changes allowed, which means I can't use Gallery.
   Any other suggestions?

   Wow, plogger is pretty nice. The only feature that the original poster wanted which doesn't exist with plogger is the ability of users to register and create their own albums.

    Plogger also uses save_mode and still am in big argument with web-host. Looks like I'm stuck with Coppermine.
    Or does anybody have another idea? (changing host won't do, just got the account)

    You may want to try Jalbum on for size. n00b friendly as well.

    Archshrk I'm using a dutch company called Meesterlijk, overall not bad except the safe_mode issue :)
    BTW still am fiddling around with Wahgnube layout. Just have to figure out if it is possible to use it with an sub-domain, so far the source code is for chaging WP, and I would like to keep my blog.

    AarOn I'll give Jalbum a try thnx!
    BTW can Jalbum be integrated with WP? Couldn't find any info about this on the site.

    If you haven't yet taken a look, Zenphoto is lovely. Some quirks yet, (it is a Developer beta), but developing very nicely. Doesn't have all the features you mention, but sometimes when you see someting nice, you adapt to what it has,rather than what you think you want ;o)

    Very smooth, very minimal.

    Some have got it "integrated" into Wordpress very nicely, and a more "out of the box" integration is certainly being asked for by a good few. Definitely one to watch, in my opinion, and one that seems to marry very well with the WP ethos.

    Hi there - I run a photoblog, and I am nothing more than a hack at setting things up on the web, but I have a good server host (iPowerweb) and I tried every gallery software listed above and more (bananalbum, simpleviewer etc). For simple flash style, I use Simpleviewer:

    For my portfolio gallery, I like MG2:

    It is smooth as silk to implement, has very intuitive and clean interface, and you can use all kinds of skins for appearance.

    Hope this helps.

    For what it's worth, I think ZenPhoto (above) looks like a great solution too - very clean design and looks 'pro'

    It is entirely possible. If I've messed with a function in WP you don't want to change, then just rename it to something else. For instance, I am sure I messed with the code for "next post" (and previous post) code to insert that cute little arrow image (because I didn't muck with the CSS like a normal person would). All you need to do is copy it over and call it my_next_post or whatever, and use that in the template instead. No problems.

    Of course, you can e-mail me for clarifications. The address is all over, read the bottom of the source on the photolog if you can't find it elsewhere.

    I was waiting for WP2.0 to release a proper plugin to make this sort of thing easier for people. Additional features there include: Centering of images, support for arbitrary sized images, EXIF data, additional descriptions for images, links to random images (hours of fun clicking!) and all the code for all those thumbnailed galleries (archives and categories).

    It's mostly all in there now. Gentleman, BEHOLD!

    If you are interested, I did also a plugin to integrate wordpress and phpwebgallery ( a nice and very easy to use and install photo gallery software, with multiple user and a lot of features ). It works also with wordpress 2.0. The integration is invisible to your visitors. Have a look here! You can download from here
