I have installed v. 3.0.4 and is reading the explanation in following document.

    http://codex.wordpress.org/First_Steps_With_WordPress

The text is not following the website setup, so it is very confusing to read – I can hardly understand what to do and is wasting a lot of time 🙂

The text is made for earlier versions?

Any suitable first step documentation for 3.0.4 ?

  • What exactly do you need to know? Even though the panel looks different now, most of the functionality is still the same.

To learn to use wordpress to make websites.

I am just doing it as a hobby, but others might need to learn.

I am the author of http://minihowto.org – I want to collect all the necessary documentation in the same place, so it is easy to learn and to get an overview – lots of documentation for internet programs is spread “all over”, so people have to read and read to learn.

I tried to use drupal 7, but could not find good documentation or modules, to do proper work.

Then I tried joomla 1.6 and also could not find documentation or modules.

So now I try wordpress *laugh*

I believe WordPress is the most user friendly out of the three you have tried. I would recommend giving a quick look over the documentation that you have already been reading and then test it out by yourself. Everything should come pretty intuitively, because it is laid out in such a way that reading documentation isn’t really required.
