• I followed a online tutorial about the installation of WordPress on xampp to be able to work from local host with WordPress. It went great until they told me to download the theme test data xml file. I went to the link and I can read the information on that page but I can not see a way to download the information so I can import it to WordPress. Do I just copy and paste it to a folder on documents or do I need to use a xml editor or something to download this file. All help greatly appreciated thank you Codin

  • You need to be specific…
where is the file with the test XML?
(it could be a 3 year old tutorial you are following, and the guidiance not up to date..)

Secondly, you need to enter your wordpress administration panel, use TOOLS, then IMPORT, then WORDPRESS
accept to install the importer plugin and activate, then point the plugin XML file.

The theme unit test data is here:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Theme_Unit_Test

Download the .xml file and use the wp-admin -> tools -> import to import that into your fresh site.
